  • Normalize routine writing that builds confidence and fluency of students as writers through the Puente portfolio process.

  • Leverage a variety of multimodal strategies to work with a heterogenous group of students.

  • Create a classroom community that promotes academic values and exploration.

  • Encourage a love of reading and a desire to attend college.
